Noel Carter from Chicago, Illinois, has been studying, training and practicing the martial arts for over 30 years. Currently ranked Rokudan (6th Dan) Black Belt and Shihan, in traditional Karate-Do. She is a senior school instructor at the Shuri Dojo,

Carter-sensei first started practicing boxing over 30 years ago, then commencing her journey in the martial arts with American freestyle kickboxing, which she practiced for over 5 years, then finally moving to traditional Karate in 1999.

Carter-sensei has been teaching the martial arts since 2002 and has taught at many clinics and seminars throughout the USA and UK, and she has competed in many karate tournaments in kata and kumite, winning and placing highly in many of these events.

Today Carter-sensei enjoys sharing her experience in the martial arts gained in over 30 years of training, in passing on this knowledge to her students. Carter-sensei is a very dedicated martial artist, always placing others before herself. She continues to be an active student and completes her own personal training on a daily basis, continuing her studies at the Shuri Dojo.

Carter-sensei was awarded her 6th dan (Rokudan) black belt in June 2023.
